One Hour to Next Year’s Goals
Take an hour and dream a little.
Don’t groan.
I will make this easy for you.
Are your marketing goals and strategies for next year done?
The first week of December is the perfect time to do this. Thanksgiving is over (U.S. folks, that is), and since I don’t suggest you take December off, we can get your basic plan down on paper before you run full steam ahead with the end-of-year holidays!
Without any hesitation, let’s dive in.
Review of Last Year’s Work
Looking back at this past year, look at your results.
1. What did you love about your business this past year?
2. What did you dislike this year?
3. What did you learn by going through these experiences?
Dream Time
Now it’s time to dream a little about your business. Think about the answers to the questions above and say to yourself,
“What if?”
I don’t need to guide you in this. Just set your mind free and say, “What if?”
No rules, no barriers, no fear.
Keep asking yourself, “What if?”
Write down what comes to mind.
(Save this file or paper to review in six months.)
Now Choose - The Really Big Thing (RBT)
Now comes the hardest part.
What is the ONE goal you want to achieve next year?
I do want you to DEEP DIVE in on just one thing.
Why one thing? It’s like setting sail across the lake. You have a destination in mind. A favorite spot you want to visit again. And you have hard-to-get reservations for a special cabin on the lake.
There are countless beautiful spots along the way. Each one is more enticing than the last. Tempted to explore, you weigh the choice of pursuing something new and exciting or following your plan, your dream.
The other routes can be explored another time. There are many new opportunities in our lifetime. Let’s stay on the course today.
Commit for this year to one goal that you will look back at next December and say, “I Did It!”
Quick! Write it down before you forget exactly what you said!
Now, here’s the thing.
When it comes down to it, your RBT will represent some kind of “launch.” I’m not talking about just a monetary goal although that will be part of it. A launch might be:
- A new course live or recorded
- A book
- A new program or service
- Membership program
- Offering VIP 1:1 Coaching (Half Day or Full Day Package)
- Subscription Based Newsletter
So, what is your really big thing?
You may use this format to write it down. And send it to me. Because I’m going to bug you until I receive it. 🐛👀🐛👀😉
By the end of this year, my Single Really Big Thing will be a [product type] that helps people [accomplish, do, achieve, etc] [what] and provides me with [what’s your reason for doing this; money, fame, credibility, helping the world.]
Be honest about this last part. If you want or need to make a certain amount of money from this product, claim it here.
At the risk of putting myself out there, here is my statement:
By the end of this year, my Single Really Big Thing is to launch 4 products in 2023. One product per quarter that helps people achieve their marketing goals and provides me with the credibility of helping coaches and consultants make more money and improve their online presence.
What Do You Need To Succeed?
What do you need to learn, create, or do in your online marketing to succeed in making your RBT?
Each of the products I listed above will take similar strategies to launch. Components of your marketing plan might include:
- An email list
- Social media followers
- Relationships with influencers
- Ads
- Podcasts
- Webinars
- Video Marketing
- Blogs
- SEO
- YouTube Channel
I don’t want you to worry about the strategies now, but I want to place them on the table so when you are thinking about your RBT, you know there is more to it than creating the product.
So, do you have your RBT? Don’t put it off. Do it now as I know you won’t come back to it later.
Fill this out and send it to me. (Email link)
By the end of this year, my Single Really Big Thing will be a [product type] that helps people [accomplish, do, achieve, etc] [what] and provides me with [what’s your reason for doing this; money, fame, credibility, helping the world.]
Otherwise, you might find me sending you an email nudge, asking what is your single REALLY BIG THING.
